Coach David

Dawid Masarczyk

Owner & Coach

Dawid began his athletic career in mixed martial arts in 2012. During his active career, he finished most of his fights on the ground. His affinity for ground fighting made him one of the pioneers of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the Rosenheim area. In addition to his personal sporting successes, Dawid began teaching early on and has helped many people celebrate their own successes over the years. In March 2023, Dawid was finally awarded the brown belt by his long-time head coach and companion Sergio "Canudo" Zimmermann, making him one of the highest-ranking BJJ coaches in the Rosenheim area.

Dawid's commitment to the sport and his immense dedication to his students are what sets him apart. He spares no expense or effort to further his education by attending seminars around the world or supporting his students in tournaments.

By opening Pound For Pound Rosenheim with his long-time friend Marinus, he has fulfilled a dream. The goal is to make the sport more popular in the area and to proudly represent the Pound For Pound team.

Coach Marinus

Marinus Schmidt

Owner & Coach

Marinus started practicing judo in 2002, which he trained with passion. Years later, in 2015, he finally switched to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Due to his judo background, Marinus already had experience in grappling, which made the transition to BJJ easier. Marinus has been working as a coach since 2020 and leads courses for both beginners and advanced students. He now has a purple belt.

With his motivating and humorous manner, Marinus succeeds in teaching his techniques in a pleasant and familiar training atmosphere. In addition to the classic techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he also likes to share his knowledge from his Judo past. In this way, he expands his students' ground fighting repertoire to include "stand-up" components.

Together with Dawid, Marinus founded Pound For Pound Rosenheim in winter 2023 and leads the Monday courses there.

Marinus BJJ Career:

03.2015 - BJJ white belt

06.2017 - BJJ Blue Belt

12.2022 - BJJ purple belt
